Beautiful black ink and ink lavis composition by lyrical abstraction artist Michel Carrade (1923-2021). Carrade belongs to the School of Paris, the main movement of Lyrical Abstraction (Émile Gilioli was also part of this movement). His ink and lavis drawings or murals are extraordinarily powerful yet poetic pieces. The largest pieces are adorning walls of iconic buildings such as the Drush House (by Claude Parent) or the Saint-Bernadette-du Banlay church in Nevers (by Claude Parent & Paul Virilio).

His work is present in major contemporary and modern art museums in Europe (France, Belgium, Germany, and more). He was one of architect Claude Parent’s best friends and this piece is coming from the late Claude Parent’s collection.

Other work by Michel Carrade on The Art Motion: Michel Carrade – Untitled, signed oil painting, 1960.
