Anja Osterwalder: Space Manual, 1999

Anja Osterwalder: Space Manual, 1999
Space Manual by Anja Osterwalder is a very unique book. With tons of facts about life inside the International Space station (ISS), this book is not only informative but also a great, intricate design piece.
Its shape is probably inspired by actual space manuals, with a spiral binding, a textured silver cardboard cover evocating metal and die-cut tabs.
The thirty-six pages are organized by subjects: Research, Human facts, Interior solutions, Environment and Physical effects.
Each section presents facts and information about all aspects of life aboard the ISS through texts, graphics and photos. You’ll learn what it looks like to live in zero gravity, from swallowing to receiving medical care to resting. How life in the space station affects the body and how to counter the effects of the lack of gravity or radiation. You’ll read about how the ISS interior space was designed, perception of colors in space, and much more.

The book is beautifully designed, making it an immediate designer’s collector. If you love space or/and if you love great design, this book is for you. Even though it was published in 1999, a few months short of the year 2000, most facts are pretty current and fascinating. This book is a treat.

The book is in great condition. It was protected in its original plastic sleeve (the sleeve is not in great shape but the book is)
The sleeve will be given with the book.
